Quickbot III

As you all may have noticed, Quickbot has been offline or not replying to messages for a while now. Some people asked me if it is dead. Well, at first Quickbot is online now. At second, there are lots of reasons why it was offline lately. The main problem is that I was rewriting my Quickbot from Delphi to C# for a month now.

As I mentioned, Quickbot is online now at bot@techie.com, but unfortunately all that it can do is talking, the 80 functions it had before are temporarely gone, as I am recoding them another programming language.

If you ask me why do I remake it, well, due to some legal troubles with using old components for Quickbot, I had to migrate to another component - MSNPSharp, which is much better and offers much more nice things, like custom emotions.

I am gonna use that library to its maximum, glad that its developers are very good people and they are helping me to implement their library in my bot. Especially thanks to Ethem for adjusting their library for my needs!

Also, a month ago, I had "suggestions" thing, from which I got over 1500 suggestions for my bot -- that means that I have do a lot of work in order to implement some of them :).

For now, if you miss chatterbot, just talk to bot@techie.com. But all the functions are going to be added in nearest month.

Thanks to all of you for using my project!

Fresh Revival

Hi Folks!

It is pleasure for me to announce that Quickbot is up again after such a long period of time.

The last problem I have to face is that main hosting server is offline and I have no idea when it will be online. However, I can run Quickbot on my home PC as well. The only limitation of home hosting is that I can't make agent to be online at nights for some reasons. Hopefully I will find a good server soon, but for now it works in Moscow daylight time [GMT +3].

New translation pairs:

enar / aren [text]: Arabic <-> English

hien / enhi [text]: Hindi <-> English

prsp / sppr [text]: Portuguese <> Spanish

spit / itsp [text]: Italian <> Spanish

Functions:

Function email is now renamed to send [to] [msg].

New functions are still in beta testing and they are not going to be published right now. Stay tuned for a new functions!

However, old functions are working perfectly ;)

Soon I am going to update Quickbot website, correct Spanish translation and add Portuguese translation.

If you want to be immediately notified about new functions, you can subscribe to Quickbot Blog RSS (http://feeds.feedburner.com/QuickbotBlog).

The bot ID is still the same — bot@techie.com.

Fresh News: Quickbot is not dead!

Hello dear QB users!

First of all, I apologize for such a long downtime of Quickbot (~ 1 month). There are many reasons why the project is suspended right now, but the main reason is lack of a time to develop and maintain QB. Thank you to all those who didn't remove the Agent from contact list.

While QB was offline, I have fixed many bugs in source code, edited old functions and added more language-pairs for translation, more cool functions, some of them are really unique and will be useful to everyone!

Also, it was a pleasure for me that some users are helping Quickbot project with translating the site and manual to another language. A few weeks ago Ribas Lucho sent me a portuguese and spanish translations of Quickbot website. I really appreciate it.

If you are able to translate official site of the project to your native language, please send me an email to msnquickbot@gmail.com. Thanks in advance.

Soon I will update the site and make a blog post about new updates in Quickbot website (http://dnreg.org/bot/) with reference to the interpreters :)

In a future time, Quickbot is going to be more useful for international users, who prefer using the Agent in their native language.

The average time when the Quickbot will be up again is not yet decided. Hopefully it will be enabled in next month or so.

If you have got any questions or suggestions you can feel free to post them in comments - I will reply to them in a two days.

Please stay tuned! Quickbot will be online soon :)
